A Judge on Wednesday raised the bond amount for a Smith County man charged with attempted first-degree murder of his stepson.
The charges against 55-year-old Stacye Lee Nash stem from multiple shootings that occurred Saturday night in Smith County.
According to authorities, Officers responded to a shots-fired call on Tribble Lane in Gordonsville. Upon arrival, someone began shooting at the officers from a nearby tree line. Officers returned fire and struck Nash. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment.
An investigation revealed that earlier that evening, Nash had gone to a nearby residence and fired shots towards his stepson. His stepson suffered a superficial injury from one of the bullets.
Authorities said they expect more charges to be filed as the TBI continues to investigate the case. This morning, Judge Michael Collins raise Nash’s bond from $150,000 to $500,000.
Nash will make another court appearance on December 7th.
