The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce now has 4-star accreditation through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Vice President of Development and Communications Zach Buckner said the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber never had accreditation before, but now it joins an elite group across the nation.
“It’s really important for out business partners and the investors in the chamber because they know that we are a high-performing organization,” Buckner said. “It’s not something that many chambers in the nation achieve. Only 3-percent of chambers that are accredited are 4-star accredited chamber.”
Chamber officials said the 4-star accreditation allows the chamber to renew, improve, and promote sound business practices, policies, and procedures.
Buckner said the chamber will shoot for a 5-star rating when it attempts to reapply for accreditation in five years.
