Stage Officially Set For General Election In 17th District

The special primary election for the 17th Senatorial District seat came to an end yesterday.

District-wide Republican Mark Pody received 2,562 votes and Democrat Mary Alice Carfi received a total of 1,283 votes. Both candidates will square off during the December 19th General Election as they ran unopposed during the primary.

Six counties make up the 17th Senatorial District including DeKalb, Cannon, Wilson, Clay, Macon, and Smith.
