Putnam County Getting Ready For Veterans Day Parade

Putnam County is gearing up for its Veterans Day Parade.

Parade organizer and Veterans Service Officer Michael Glass said this year’s parade will have a slightly different route.

“The route is a little bit longer than it has been. We are actually going to start at Broad Street and go all the way to the trian depot,” Glass said.

This year’s parade will be taking place this Friday starting at the Putnam County Courthouse with a ceremony. That ceremony will include singing and speeches from a variety of county and Upper Cumberland leaders.

“We will have about 200 flags that we will be able to pass out to the crowd,” Glass said. “If you are there and see someone handing out flags, feel free to grab one.”

Parade activities will begin at 11:00 a.m.
