A grease fire damaged a DeKalb County home Monday night and left one person with minor burns.
According to county Fire Chief Donny Green, the blaze broke out at a residence on Highland Drive off Cookeville Highway.
Green said the fire started when a skillet caught fire as a resident was cooking hamburgers. Officials said the flames spread from the stove to a cabinet and a vent pipe.
Members of the family managed to safely evacuate and a woman received minor burns to a hand as she grabbed the skillet and took it outside.
