For the second month in a row the Algood City Council has failed to conduct a meeting.
Mayor Scott Bilbrey did not show up at last night’s meeting, leaving the council without a quorum. City Administrator Keith Morrison said it’s a frustrating situation.
“We have a lot of business that we need to attend to,” Morrison said. “The town and citizens need a new snow plow and without council approval we can’t do that. We’ve got a trail amendment for the rail trial that needs to be completed and water and sewer improvements on hold.”
The council also needs to hire a new city attorney, fill two vacant city council seats and appoint several people to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Mayor Scott Bilbrey has now missed two consecutive meetings.
