Algood Looking To Fill Vacant City Council Seats

The Algood City Council is expected to fill at least one of the two vacant city council seats when they meet tomorrow.

“I assume they will go ahead and fill one since they had four candidates narrowed down for that position,” City Administrator Keith Morrison said. “I’m not sure if they will fill the second position. They may make a decision on what process they want to proceed with to get applicants or nominations for that position instead of actually filling it that night.”

The city left was with two vacant city council seats after councilman Richard Heard unexpectedly resigned in September. The other seat was left vacant when former councilman Jennifer Green resigned in February.

Tuesday’s meeting is set for 6:00 p.m. inside city hall.
