Milling Has Begun On Willow Avenue

Milling has begun on Cookeville’s Willow Avenue.

TDOT spokesman Jennifer Flynn said the two-part project is on schedule. Contractor Rogers Group has lowered manholes, repaired sidewalks and drainage catchbasins. Now they’re removing old pavement before applying new asphalt.

Flynn said the whole project should be complete by Halloween.

The project begins just south of Jackson Street and will cover 2 miles of Willow Avenue, all the way up to Gainesboro Grade.

All work will be completed after dark. At least one lane will remain open each way, Flynn said.
