Cumberland County Sheriff’s K-9 has a new vest.
K-9 officer Niko recently received the vest from a nonprofit called Vested Interest in K9s Inc. The vest is bullet and stab protective.
Niko and his handler Deputy Zach Gilpin have been protecting Cumberland County since 2014. Sheriff Casey Cox said the department was grateful for the donation.
Earlier this year, a Crossville K-9 officer died after a suspect allegedly stabbed him following a high-speed chase.
