The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating after a man fled the scene of a two vehicle crash in DeKalb County Saturday night.
Officials said the crash happened around 9:20 p.m. on Highway 70 east near Howard Redmon Road.
Officials said the crash happened when a Nissan pickup truck passed another vehicle in a no passing zone. A crash report said the Nissan struck a westbound Toyota Tacoma.
Following the accident the driver of the Nissan fled the scene leaving five injured passengers behind with serious injuries.
The driver of the Tacoma did not suffer any injuries and the accident remains under investigation.
