The City of Crossville has taken over management of the historic downtown depot.
CATS organization previously managed the depot, but recently declined to renew their contract.
This week the City Council approved a budget amendment of $62,000 for several capitol improvements at the depot including upgrades to the meeting room.
“Some of the improvements we have discussed are a projection system and a new audio system so you can do power point presentation,” Wood said. “We expect to see a first class product come out of that.”
Wood also said a group from Tennessee College of Applied Technology has agreed to install a new wood floor in the depot’s meeting room. The $62,000 will also go towards hiring two people to manage the depot.
