Monterey Lions Club Disaster Response Team Director Ken Hall says his team plans to be away from the Upper Cumberland for a few more days.
FOr the past two weeks his team has helped the Houston Texas area with Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts. Monday his team arrived in Miami Florida to begin recovery efforts after Hurricane Irma swept through the state Sunday and Monday.
“One we get to Miami and find out what needs to be done we will probably stay down here for five to six days,” Hall said. ” We’ve got to replenish our supplies and our bodies.”
Hall said his group plans to return to Houston once they replenish their resources. Monday’s drive to Miami marked the 51st disaster the team has responded to since 2008.
