BBB Fighting Phishing Scam

The Better Business Bureau has shut down more than 100 phishing websites using the organization’s logo in the last month.

In August, the Better Business Bureau announced websites were sending phishing emails using their own logo.

Now, the nonprofit said sites are sending emails that fraudulently tell business owners a complaint has been filed with the BBB.

If you receive an email that looks like a BBB complaint, read it carefully for misspellings, grammatical errors and generic greetings. Don’t click on any links or attachments and send a copy of the email to phishing@council.bbb.org.
