Blasting At Sparta Quarry Worries Residents

Rogers Group confirmed it had conducted blasting at the Sparta Quarry about noon Wednesday.

Sparta residents voiced their concerns on social media. Many reported feeling the ground shake and hearing a booming noise.

The Sparta Quarry has been owned and operated by Rogers Group since 1983.

Blasting can occur whenever necessary in order to expand and continue operations at the quarry.
