Sparta Police Provide Traffic Control For Fair

Sparta Police Chief Jeff Guth said will provide traffic control on Spring Street during school pickup and drop-off this week.

Findlay Elementary is located behind the White County Fairgrounds. Golden Mountain Road is closed each year during the fair. That forces parents to use Hale Street for pickup and drop-off, leading to some long lines in the early mornings and afternoons.

Monday, an officer was stationed at the intersection of Hale and Spring streets. Guth said an officer will be directing traffic there before and after school until the fair is over.

The White County Fair continues through Saturday.
