Allons Resident Arrested Following High Speed Pursuit

An Allons Tennessee man faces a number of charges following a high speed chase that began in Pickett County and ended in Clinton County Kentucky Monday.

26-year-old Andrew Maxfield is charged with DUI, evading police, reckless driving, and assault on a police officer.

Authorities said the pursuit began when a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer noticed Maxfield driving 103 miles per hour across Obey River Bridge.

Pickett County joined the pursuit when Maxfield made a U-turn and headed northbound on Highway 111, exceeding speeds of 117 miles per hour.

Pickett County Sheriff Dana Dowdy received permission to follow the pursuit into Clinton County Kentucky. Officials said that’s when Maxfield slammed his vehicle head-on into Sheriff Dowdy’s police cruiser. Maxfield fled the scene but, was later apprehended.

Charges against Maxfield in Pickett County are pending.
