The Cumberland County Sheriffs Office warned residents to beware of home improvement scams.
In a social media post Thursday, department officials said sometimes scam artists go door-to-door, insisting they have leftover asphalt from another job and they’ll be able to cut you a deal.
Officials remind residents they should insist on a detailed, written contract. If you feel pressured to make a quick decision, be wary. If it seems too good to be true, it’s probably a scam.
