Officials all over the state are planning for the great unknown over the weekend.
An unknown number of people will visit the state to view Monday’s eclipse.
Putnam County 911 Public Safety Coordinator Brandon Smith:
“You’re looking at the entire state of Tennessee, 55 counties will be in the full eclipse path and 44 counties will be in the partial eclipse path, so the entire state of Tennessee is under the microscope or the telescope so to speak, in this case,” Smith said.
Smith said the 911 center encourages people to be patient, calm and creative. Smith said since officials don’t know the size of the crowds or the strain they will put on local services, residents are asked to be flexible.
