Walsh Murder Trial Began In Clay County

The murder trial of Edward Walsh began Tuesday in Clay County.

Walsh faces charges of first degree murder and abuse of a corpse in connection to the death of his girlfriend Melisha K. Mosier Ludwick in the summer of 2015.

Ludwick’s disappearance was reported by her sister, Sonya Scott, who was an inmate at the Robertson County Jail at the time. Ludwick and Walsh didn’t show up for Scott’s parole hearing. She contacted Walsh, who said she had left him and he didn’t know where she was. Scott contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies found a shallow grave containing her torso and head. Investigators found legs, parts of arms, feet and a human hand in the freezer, with the skin removed from the arms and legs.

The trial will continue before Judge Gary McKenzie throughout the week.
