Rickman’s Holman Semi-Finalist For Principal Of The Year

An Upper Cumberland principal may be Tennessee’s principal of the year.

Rickman Elementary School principal Donnie Holman said he’s proud and honored to be named one of the nine semifinalists.

“I’ve got a lot of good people helping me and I don’t think anyone can be principal without a lot of good people supporting them, and I definitely have that,” Holman said.

Holman said that support comes from every angle, from Overton County administration on down.

“Rickman has got a really good strong faculty and I’ve always bragged on the student body, they’re really good. That’s a polite, good, group of students, in my opinion as good as you can find anywhere,” Holman said.

The nine semifinalists represent elementary, middle and high schools in each region of the state. The winner will be announced at a banquet in Nashville in October.
