Algood is moving forward with hiring a new police chief.
Last night the city council gave the Municipal Technical Advisory Service approval to begin the recruitment of a new police chief. During that meeting council members also appointed a new city recorder and finalized a list of people to fill a vacant city council seat.
Algood Resident Richard Wood said he was happy to see the city utilize MTAS for the recruitment of a new police chief.
“When you start getting into selecting people, as you found out tonight, it gets a little interesting,” Wood said. “I want to commend you guys for using the expertise that we already pay for.”
The city will be posting the application for police chief online within the next couple of days.
