The Algood City Council took a step forward with filling a vacant city council seat last night.
Six people applied for the position and the council narrowed that down to four finalist. They include Scott Winningham, Bobby Randolph, Bill Bilbrey, and Becky Morrison.
“Our next meeting will be in 30 days and we will appoint someone,” Algood Mayor Scott Bilbrey said. “That will give each one of the members an opportunity to address each one of these folks and maybe they think of something after they leave here tonight.”
The candidate selected to fill the council seat will be replacing Jennifer Green, who resigned from the council in February.
The next monthly meeting will be September 12th at 6:00 p.m.
