Charges Announced Against Man Who Stabbed Police K9

Authorities have announced charges against a man who fatally stabbed a Crossville Police K-9 Wednesday.

Authorities have charged 28-year-old Dustin Lee Dixon with intentional killing of a service animal, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, DUI, evading arrest and theft of property.

The charge of intentionally killing a service animal is a class C felony with a maximum sentence of 15-years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Dixon is under a $246,000 bond at the Cumberland County Jail and he will make his first court appearance on September 25th.
