Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce CEO Brad Allamong said officials are still going through the pages of data received from a workforce study back in May. Part of the study makes recommendations on industries the county should try to recruit.
“Actually we’re getting more attention from prospects lately, so I think in some ways it’s already paying off and we haven’t even tackled the targeted industries yet,” Allamong said.
They’ll meet with industry and education leaders this week and next to get a better idea of how to develop the workforce.
“That’s going to be a real challenge, not just for Cumberland County but all of the Upper Cumberland region, I’m sure every community throughout is addressing these same issues, it begs the question, what can we do as a collective group in the Upper Cumberland region?,” Allamong said.
Memphis-based firm Younger Associates presented the study in May.
