The state has awarded 10 Upper Cumberland counties with $160,000 in 3-Star competitive grant funding.
The grants will be used for a variety of local programs addressing economic development, public safety, health, education and workforce development.
Counties received either $5,000, $15,000 or $25,000 grants through the program.
Cumberland, Smith, and Warren counties received a $5,000 each and Clay, DeKalb, and Pickett counties received $15,000 each.
Jackson, Overton, Van Buren, and White counties received the $25,000 grants.
