Putnam County residents may be angry about additional license plate fees, but they’re willing to pay a little more for something they want.
Putnam County Clerk Wayne Nabors said residents have been lining up to exchange their license plates for the new “In God We Trust” plates.
“Oh gosh we’ve probably already sold about 150-160 of those, of course there’s a $2 extra fee at the time of the swap and nobody has said a word, they’re just tickled to death to get the plate, and it looks good and they’re excited, nothing’s been said about that,” Nabors said.
The new plates have been available since July 1. They were made possible by a law sponsored by Sen. Paul Bailey.
