The Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation is gearing up for its biggest fundraising event of the year.
Director John Bell said the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Golf Classic will take place August 17th and 18th at the Golden Eagle Golf Club.
“All the proceeds go to support patient assistance fund here at CRMC,” Bell said. “The three largest it’s going to help is our cancer fund, caring hands fund and pink ribbon program, which provides free mammograms to about 500 women a year.”
Bell said this years event will include a visit from a special celebrity. Former Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs star Bill Buckner will be a keynote speaker at the golf classic.
