The Fentress County Commission met last night and took aim at addressing a dangerous stretch of Highway-127.
The commission approved a resolution requesting the state to construct a run off ramp roughly 3 to 5 miles North of Jamestown near Wolf River. That area has seen a number of accidents involving tractor trailers.
Officials say the stretch of road has a steep downgrade with only two lanes of travel an no emergency escape ramp for run away trucks.
If the state does not approve the request commissioners will send another resolution to the state requesting the speed limit to be lowered in that area.
