Pody To Run For Mae Beavers’ Senate Seat

State Rep. Mark Pody hopes to move to the Senate.

Pody announced Friday he would run for the 17th district Senate seat. That seat’s incumbent, Mae Beavers, announced last week she would run for governor.

Pody currently represents the House 46th district, which includes parts of DeKalb and Wilson counties and all of Cannon County.

Beavers’ district includes Wilson, Cannon, DeKalb, Clay, Smith and Macon counties.

Beavers and Pody are both Republicans.
