TTU Participates In CATE Project For Eclipse

Tennessee Tech will help produce a video on the solar eclipse.

TTU physicist Dr. Mary Kidd said the school is participating in the Citizen CATE project.

“Along the path of the eclipse between Oregon and South Carolina there is over 60 sites that have the identical telescopes and computer equipment and they will be watching the eclipse as it passes over their site and at the end of the day we’ll have a 90-minute video of the solar corona as the eclipse is occurring over the United States,” Kidd said.

The Upper Cumberland region will have some of the best views of the eclipse when it takes place August 21.
