Sparta Approves Garbage Truck Repairs

The Sparta Board of Mayor and Alderman approved up to $35,000 to repair a garbage truck.

Public Works Director Dillard Quick said the city’s garbage trucks broke down last week. The primary one is still under warranty and at a garage in Nashville awaiting repairs.

The secondary truck needs a little more work. Mayor Jeff Young said the secondary truck only has 35,000 miles on it and could be used one or two days a week to extend the life of the primary truck. Aldermen approved up to $35,000 for the work. Any action costing more than $10,000 requires approval of the board.
