14 Putnam County Boys Elected At Boys State

Putnam County’s Boys State delegates have left an impression this week.

Fourteen Putnam County boys were elected to a variety of offices, from Supreme Court to Aldermen.

The annual event sponsored by the American Legion brings boys from every county in the state to Tennessee Tech to learn about government. The boys create a mock state, complete with county and local governments. They run for offices to oversee those governments.

Boys State ends Saturday.

Putnam County delegates elected to positions include:

From Cookeville High School, A.J. McGugin was elected to the Supreme Court; Will Arnett and Conner Bostion were elected as County Commissioners; Andrew Agbunag, Luke Hayslette and Alex Putz were elected Alderman; Sam Oldham, Griffin Hawkins and Joshua South were elected Mayors; and Jacob Reeves and Solomon Trapp were elected as State Representatives.

From Monterey High School, Parker Payne, Max Troyer and Jon-Luke Wilson were elected as State Representatives.
