Priest Pleads Guilty To Theft From VFD

Former Hardy’s Chapel Volunteer Fire Department Chief Terry Priest has pleaded guilty of a theft charge.

Priest pleaded guilty to one count of theft of more than $10,000 but less than $60,000 in Overton County Criminal Court Monday.

Priest will be sentenced at a hearing in August.

Assistant District Attorney Mark Gore said he believes Priest will be required to pay back the more than $37,000 he took as part of his sentence.

Priest was indicted on a theft charge in 2015.
