SAIC Welcomed To Cookeville Monday

State and local officials welcomed Cookeville’s newest company yesterday.

Last month Science Applications International Corporation announced plans to open its first Technology Integration Gateway at the Regions Bank building.

SAIC CEO Tony Moraco said the defense contractor plans to hire 300 people over the next 5-years and many of those people will come from Tennessee Tech.

‘As we try to build up our workforce it’s fundamental to make sure that we get talent that’s coming out and ready to go to work with the right skills sets,” Moraco said. “Tennessee Tech programs drove us to look very closely here along with the community support.”

The company will host a wide range of technology jobs at the office including IT ramming, engineering, software development, and cyber security.

SAIC plans to open in June. They have already started the hiring process.
