Putnam County Schools Director Jerry Boyd said the search continues for property suitable to hold a new Park View Elementary
Boyd said there’s prospects, but he hasn’t narrowed them down to present to the Board of education yet.
“We’re just looking for a good opportunity for the community as far as construction of a school and a fair market price which would be determined,” Boyd said.
Boyd said a land donation would be welcome as well.
“If someone wants to donate land, as board members have stated, we can talk about ways to honor that huge contribution to the community,” Boyd said.
Last month, the board voted to sell the current Park View Elementary to the city of Cookeville. The city intends to build a new police station there.
