Battle At The Border Fishing Tournament Cancelled

The weather proclaimed the winner of the Tennessee Bass Nation Battle at the Border High School Fishing Tournament.

Organizers cancelled Saturday’s event at Dale Hollow Lake. The tournament features some of the best high school anglers from Tennessee against those from Kentucky. Tennessee Bass Nation President Jake Davis said the tournament has been canceled due to weather projected for this weekend.

“When you get a forecast that says an inch and a half to three inches of rain and severe thunderstorms or potential for severe thunderstorms and winds 25 miles per hour gusting up to 50, you’re like we can’t put the kids out there like that and I wouldn’t put an adult tournament out there like that.”

Davis said that during this time of year, fishing tournaments are going on every weekend and that rescheduling the tournament is almost impossible.

Davis said the tournament produces a good fun rivalry between the states and that the tournament being canceled is unfortunate.
