UCDD Administrative Services Director Sherry Thurman honored by the 113th Tennessee General Assembly for her thirty-five years with the organization.
Thurman first joined UCDD in 1989 as a secretary for the Job Training Partnership Act Program. Senator Paul Bailey said Thurman serves as a trusted resource within her office by providing guidance and support to colleagues.
“Whereas, beloved by and treasured by the staff of both UCDD and UCHRA and the respected board members and representatives of both agencies, Ms. Thurman has found her niche within the Upper Cumberland Development District having followed her passion to help and assist others,” Bailey said.
Bailey said Thurman is an admirable public servant who has been dedicated to her career improving the quality of life in her community.
“Today she facilities administrative duties and supports the various councils, committees, and board of UCDD and the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency and keeps (Executive Director Mark Farley) in line,” Farley said.
Bailey said Thurman also assists the organization with developing and implementing processes that improve efficiency and productivity. Bailey said Thurman graduated from Jackson County High School and earned a bookkeeping diploma from the former Livingston Vocational Technical School.
“Over the years she has participated in numerous training sessions and has gained experience working with various departments at UCDD which has enhanced her understanding of the programs offered,” Bailey said.
