Upperman High School Junior Landon Ernest has been elected the next Tennessee Beta Club President.
Ernest earned the honor amongst 4,000 other members after attending the Tennessee Beta Club Convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in November. Ernest said he has his eyes on a bigger prize as well.
“My office will take place after nationals which is in June,” Ernest said. “I’ll also run for national beta president and there are about 10,000 people, and that will be in Orlando, FL this summer so I’m looking forward to it.”
Putnam County Director of Schools Corby King complimented Ernest for his accomplishment and is excited to see how nationals go.
“We are excited and wishing him well as he goes to Orlando,” King said.
Ernest is first Putnam County student to lead the organization since 2006.
