Lake Tansi Village Opens New Pool Complex

Lake Tansi Village and Resort has completed and opened a new indoor pool complex.

Lake Tansi Village and Resort Recreation Director Jennifer King said the previous swimming pools were over 40 years old. King said the complex is more advanced than the previous indoor pool that they had.

“It’s a 30 foot by 60 foot pool, we have lap lanes, we have exercise classes, we have open swim for families, we have adult swim if you just want to come over and swim some laps,” King said. “We’ve got a party room in case you want to have a birthday party here. We do rent out the facility and we have really nice locker rooms.”

King said the project was originally expected to be completed during the summer but the location of the complex had an underground spring which had to be taken care of before building. King said the pool complex connects to the outdoor pool and now presents a great gathering place for families.

“It’s all connected to our new outdoor swimming pool that we put in last year,” King said. “So we have all of it in one spot, so we used to have to up across the road across Dunbar to the indoor pool but now it is all in one location.”

King said now that the pool complex is built it can be used as a pitch to people who are considering becoming a member.

“In the last few days since we have been open, we’ve had some realtors stop by with potential buyers and look at the new amenities to show them what with the dues that they pay yearly this is what you get for those amenities for those dues,” King said. “So yeah everybody is quite pleased with it and I think it is a big draw.”

King said being able to use the pool year-round was one of the main factors for keeping an indoor pool. King also said she believes the pool complex is now only one of two indoor pool facilities in Cumberland County.
