Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton won the race to serve as Representative for District 25 by 82.3 percent.
Sexton received a total of 30,717 votes to Wesley Adkins’s 6,603 votes. Sexton said he appreciates everyone who took part in helping him receive even more votes than his election two years ago.
“Well, it’s an amazing feeling,” Sexton said. “Because I work hard to represent the entire district as well as be speaker for the state of Tennessee, but I always remember I’m elected to serve my district. And so it’s always a great honor.”
Sexton said it is great to see voter turnout so high because voting is an important way to honor the veterans who fought to provide us with a free country.
“I’m looking forward to serving another two years and look forward to seeing what else we can do in our communities to continue to move them forward, as well as the state,” Sexton said.
In Cumberland County, Sexton got 81.96 percent of votes.
