Baxter’s Wastewater Treatment Plant project got underway Monday.
The long-awaited upgrade will add capacity and new technology to the 30-plus year old facility. Engineer Tom Bennett said it will take about 15 months.
“That’s been many, many years in the coming, so that’s, again, great news,” Bennett said.
Meantime, bidding underway on a separate sewer rehab project. Bennett said that project will cause disruption around town as crews work underground.
“Ass we progress ahead, we’ll certainly ask for the community’s patience as we begin to rehabilitate the downtown sewer system and, and all that goes with that,” Bennett said.
