Tennessee Tech’s annual Fall Celebration Dinner will feature former Head of Go-To-Market at OpenAI Zack Kass.
College of Business Program Development Director Cheryl Montgomery said Kass will be discussing the uses and impacts of AI as well as the founding and launch of ChatGPT. Montgomery said it is an important subject to learn about because ChatGPT has become such a common tool in the world today.
“We’re hoping people will walk away with a better understanding of the value that AI and ChatGPT has in the community and with business,” Montgomery said. “And it’s an opportunity for us to hear about how AI will power our future.”
Montgomery said tickets are available for anyone in the community who wants to attend and learn more about AI. Montgomery said Kass was chosen by a group within the College of Business because there has been a demand from students and faculty to learn about the subject.
The event takes place on October 3 at 5:30pm in the Leslie Town Center.
“If you want to understand how ChatGPT can be used to better your life and make your work processes easier, we think you’ll find Mr. Kass an informative speaker,” Montgomery said.
Montgomery said ChatGPT is on track to see as much use as Google if it continues to grow and improve as it is now.
“Whether or not you’re figuring out how to buy a plane ticket or what you need to do about going to the grocery store or finding the latest information about an upcoming sports event, everyone uses Google. And ChatGPT is probably going to be one of the next things people start using.”
Montgomery said anyone interested purchasing a ticket can find more information on the events page of the College of Business’s website.
“If people register by September 25, tickets are $95,” Montgomery said. “And late registration fee tickets are $120.”
