A new style of resort opening its doors in Cookeville, the Hideout Hotels.
Co-Founder Jake Pence said the facility was built for people to enjoy the outdoors and reset from daily life. Pence said people often stress out over the daily grind of life.
“It could be their work, it could be their relationship, you know it could be health and wellness,” Pence said. “There are a lot of different topics that when you are in a space like this it can really prompt you to just take a step back and think about what is going on and ultimately decide like are you headed in the direction you want to be heading.”
Hideout Hotels features four family cabins and the well-known Sulfur Ridge treehouse. Pence said he and his partner picked to build the facility in Cookeville as the Upper Cumberland has plenty of natural beauty.
“I really enjoy taking trips out there now,” Pence said. “And a lot of our guests give very similar feedback. We’ve also found that working with the Chamber of Commerce and the tourism department they are really doing a lot of things very well in terms of just positioning the region for more tourism to take advantage of a lot of that natural beauty.”
Hideout Hotels is only 15 minutes away from downtown Cookeville. Pence said Hideout Hotels felt welcomed by other local businesses.
“It’s a tremendous resource for us,” Pence said. “Downtown Cookeville I think is one of middle Tennessee’s best kept secrets. We really have enjoyed being close to downtown Cookeville. It gives guests the option to spend all weekend in the woods or go into town and eat dinner or do some shopping at local stores.”
Hideout Hotels offers a variety of things for people to do during their stay. The facility features a multipurpose court for pickleball and basketball, an eight-person barrel sauna, golf putting greens, and fire pits. Pence said they offer many activities and services for individuals and families.
