A Cumberland County Church calling men back to “Biblical Masculinity” through a weekend conference.
“Immovable” is the name of the conference hosted by Lantana Road Baptist Church Friday and Saturday. Children Ministry Coordinator Bruce Stanley said the conference will discuss areas like faith, family and fortitude.
“Given the situation that we’re in, in our culture, it seems like that there’s a need to just kind of reinforce these virtues with men and how they lead their families,” Stanley said. “And just to not be ashamed of what God calls us to be as men.”
Stanley said “Biblical Masculinity” defined as a Godly man in relation to being a part of the church, serving in the community, and leading their families.
“It has nothing to do with, lording over anyone or some sort of macho idea of masculinity,” Stanley said. “It is simply just living out the, the way God calls men to lead.”
Stanley says motivating men to step up and do things God called men to do could change families, communities and even cities in the nation. Stanley says conferences that focus on “truth” are needed but that a lot of times it is against what American culture is promoting.
“Were hoping for an increased awareness to these things and to really encourage men, in a culture that says, ‘You’re not allowed to be a godly man, your not allowed to have authority’,” Stanley said.
The event features three guest speakers, as well as door prizes and food provided. Men of all ages can RSVP on the church website.
