A Crossville Police Officer indicted on a charge that he used physical force while affecting the arrest of a subject.
A Cumberland County Grand Jury returned the indictment on Detective Tyrel Lorenz Monday. Lorenz turned himself in and was booked at the Cumberland County Jail. He was released on his own recognizance.
TBI special agents investigated the matter at the request of District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway. In the investigation, agents determined that Lorenz used physical force in an incident following a criminal interview with a suspect. The suspect transported to the local hospital where he was treated and released.
