A celebration of life for Margie C. Dyer, 89 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11 A.M. at Union Hill Church of Christ, Bloomington Springs. Bro Randy Bybee from Pippin Church of Christ, her home congregation, will officiate. Mrs. Dyer passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at her residence in Cookeville.  She was married to the late Harold W. Dyer. She worked in retail and was a homemaker, and a member of the Pippin Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Ronald L.) Winningham, and Vickie (Lance) Wells. The family has chosen cremation. Celebration of Life Services for Brian “Bozzy” Boswell, age 41, of Rickman, will be conducted on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 12:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Mr. Boswell was born on July 9, 1982, in Livingston, to Joe Boswell of Rickman, Tennessee, and the late Debbie White Boswell. Mr. Boswell passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Boswell worked at Transtar in Cookeville. He was a proud member of RENEGADES Motorcycle Club. He was a former Overton County volunteer firefighter and member of the Rescue Squad. In addition to his father, he was survived by his wife Tabatha Conner Boswell of Rickman; 3 sons, Matthew Conner, Lucas Boswell, and Joseph Boswell of Rickman; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy and Jennifer Boswell of Rickman, Corrie and Ambrea Boswell of Livingston; father-in-law, Elbert Conner of Pickett County, brother-in-law, Daniel (Victoria) Conner of Putnam County; nieces and nephews, Troy, Hadlee, Maddie, Grayson, Ryland, Keelynn, Hayden, Harrison, Harlin, Hayson, Clark, Kinsley, Mason, Grayson, and Maddie. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel; nephew, Hayze; mother-in-law, Tami Conner; and brother-in-law, Jeremy Conner. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 9:00 AM until time of services at 12:00 PM.

A memorial service for Ms. Dawn Cheryl Garrison Knoxville, age 73 of McMinnville, with honors by the Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, September 30, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. She passed away at 10:02pm Monday, September 25, 2023 at Creekview Health and Rehabilition in Knoxville. Dawn was born May 31, 1950 in Daytona Beach, Florida to the late Donald and Katherine Lecroy Garrison. She served many years as a proud Registered Nurse. Survivors include her son Jason Knoxville of Seymour, TN. Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Dawn’s cremation. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for James Randal “Randy” Ellis, age 66 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Dan Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at his home. He was born July 3, 1957 in Memphis, and he was the son of the late James Ellis and the late Jean Matthews Ellis. He was retired from Carrier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Haylee Barnes. Survivors include: Wife of 25 Years- Kim Ellis of Cookeville; Daughter- Dawn Barnes (Jeremy) of Brandon, MS; Grandchildren- Jason Murray (Anna) of Brandon, MS; Matthew Barnes (Hannah) of Brandon, MS; and Melisse Barnes of Brandon, Ms; Great-Grandson- Christian Barnes of Brandon, MS; Sister- Jan Carlson (John) of Germantown; Mother-in-Law- Juanita Wells (Gene) of Gainesboro; Sister-in-Law- Tammy Burrow of Cookeville; Nephews- Steven Carlson (Robin) of Germantown;Todd Carlson (Stephanie) of Memphis; James Burrow of Cookeville; Niece- Carla Burrow of Cookeville; Great-Nephews- Corboyn Draughn of Cookeville, TN; Cyler Burrow of Cookeville; and Hunter Carlson of Germantown; Great-Niece- Chloe Draughn of Cookeville; A Very Special Friend- Paul St. Amour of Cookeville; Many cousins and other family members also survive. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas J. O’Brien, age 76 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Saturday, September 30th, from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery. Tom passed from this life on Wednesday morning, September 27, 2023, from the comfort of his home. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on May 12, 1947, to the late Joseph and Rose Mangan O’Brien. Tom was an active member of his community, serving as the Director of the Overton County Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Rotary Club for many years. Tom faithfully served the families of Overton County through his work with Speck and Livingston Funeral Homes over the last ten years. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and driving the van for the First United Methodist Church where he was a member. Most of all, Tom loved his family dearly. Tom leaves behind his wife of 53 years Carolyn Winton O’Brien of Livingston; sons T.J. O’Brien (Jessi) of Spring Hill and Matthew O’Brien of Nashville; grandson Declan O’Brien; brother Joe O’Brien of Warsaw, Indiana; niece Jennifer Johnson (Brooks) of Nappanee, Indiana; three nephews; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 PM. Memorial Donations in memory of Mr. O’Brien may be made to the American Cancer Society by contacting Speck Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Donna Kay Baker, age 65, of Monterey, will be conducted on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Jenkins will officiate with interment to follow in the Stamps Shady Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Baker was born on Wednesday, September 3, 1958, in Monterey, to the late Homer and Geraldine Shepherd Hargis. Mrs. Baker passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker. She was a loving wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. She was Baptist in Faith. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Billy Baker of Monterey; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Jamie Suttle of Monterey; stepchildren, Tonya Stafford and Stephen Baker; sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Donnie) Shouse of Monterey; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger (Vickie) Hargis of Monterey, Dewayne Hargis of Cookeville, Jackie Hargis of the Hanging Limb Community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rodney Boronda. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 12:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM. Funeral Services for Mr. George Stephen Copeland, age 75, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2023, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry murphy will officiate. Burial to follow in the Copeland Cemetery on Conatser Lane. Military Honors will be provided by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Steve passed from this life on Thursday morning, September 28, 2023, from his home in Livingston. He was born in Livingston, Tennessee on March 13, 1948, to the late Jimmy Van and Leida Ringley Copeland. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 12 noon until time of services from the Livingston Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Scotty Tucker, 55 of the Dodson Branch Community, will be on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery. Scotty Tucker was born on June 9, 1968 in Cookeville, and he passed away at HCA Houston Southeast Hospital in Pasadena, TX on Monday, September 25, 2023. Scotty was son of James William Tucker and Nina Arline Tucker. He was of Baptist faith. He was a resident of the Dodson Branch Community. On September 19, 2009 he was married to Angelia Sue Wheeler. Preceded in death by his parents, James William Tucker and Nina Arline Tucker; brothers, Jimmy Tucker, Tony Tucker, Terry Mark Hill and Jerry Wayne Hill, Sr., sister-in-law, Priscilla Wheeler Applebee; father-in-law, Bobby Gene Wheeler and son Dustin Daniel Buck. Survived by his wife, Angela Sue Wheeler Tucker of Cookeville, grandson, Braylon Ledbetter Buck of Cookeville; sister and siter in law, Mandy Hill and Carrie Ann of Auburntown; Uncle Charles Tucker of Lugoff, SC, aunt, Betty Tucker of Dunbar, SC, uncle Leroy Krantz of Joelton, TN; brother and sister in law, Eugene and Connie Wheeler; mother-in-law, Barbara Goolsby Wheeler of Gainesboro. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends including Meryl Burrough Marley. Scotty was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was an active millrite worker. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and of course all his dogs over the years. He graduated from Jackson County High School in 1987. Scotty enjoyed telling a good joke, and always knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023, 2-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Sunday 10 am to 2 pm. Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Merrill Young, age 70 of Sparta, will be conducted at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. He passed away at 7:52 am Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at St.Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Arthur was born Saint Patrick’s Day March 17, 1953 in Sparta, to the late James Arthur and Merkley Miller Young. He was a longtime custodian at the White County Courthouse. He loved motorcycles, gardening but most of all spending time with his family, whether for holidays or birthdays. He never met a stranger and could always carry on a conversation with anyone, friend or stranger. Arthur was also a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brother David Young; brother in law F L Young; granddaughter Avery Rena Cornelius and three infant sisters. Survivors include his wife Teresa Green Young of Sparta; Children: Frankie Young, Amy Young and Phillip Flatt all of Sparta, J B (Catherine) Young of Michigan; Step-children: Kenneth (Michael) Young, Regina (JR) Cole, Trinity Cornelius, all of Sparta, Shaun (Tia) Young, Thristin Young and Miles Neff all of Cookeville; Brothers: Steve (Kathy) Young of Sparta, Joel Young of Byrdstown; Sisters: Betty Young, Hattie (Jackie) McGee, Alice Young, Frances (Roger) Young all of Sparta; Sisters in laws: Sonya (Darrell) Mabe, Phyllis (Jason) Hollcomb, Bridgett Brock; Grandchildren: Paisley Kay Cornelius, Erica Young, Nathaniel Young, Dayton McConnell; Step-grandchildren: Dustin (Jessica) Baker, Dalton Baker, Cody Baker; Step-great-grandchildren: Nalla Baker, Elliana Ritter, Journey Harper, Baby Baker due in October 2023; A host of nieces and nephews also survive. She passed from this life Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born Thursday, May 9, 1968 in Cookeville, she was the daughter of Woodrow Gore and the late Brenda Cleghorn Harp. Karen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was a caretaker both professionally and personally, devoting her life to taking care of others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and being outside. She loved being a mother to her daughter Kyndrick. In addition to her father and his wife Irene Gore, Karen is survived by her husband of 8 years, Roy Spurlock of Sparta; 1 daughter, Kyndrick Read of Sparta; Maternal grandmother: Gladys Stover of Algood; 3 sisters and 1 brother-in-law: Donnita Pearson, Veronica and Jeremiah Johnson, Melissa Harp; 1 step sister and spouse: Annie and Ray Pippin; 1 step brother: Karl Vonhaden; 2 nieces: Amanda Roberts, Holley Read; 2 great nieces: Ashlyn Goodpaster, Brianna Goodpaster; 1 great nephew: Charlie Boles; In addition to her mother Karen was preceded in death by her stepdad, Harold Harp. A burial will follow at the West Cemetery on West Cemetery Road. Jennifer passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Crossville. Jennifer was born in Isabella County, Michigan on March 7, 1973, to Colleen Randolph and the late Claude Thomas Randolph. Jennifer worked with LTM in Sparta, and dearly loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother: Stephen Randolph and Grandmother: Constance Perkins; She is survived by her companion: Robert Potts; children & spouses: Shyanne (Josh)Wykoff, Shannon (Clint) Jones, Danielle (Dan)Bell, Sharon (Cris)Wykoff, and Glenda (Jared)Peterson; Brother: Claude Randolph; Sister & Brother-In-Law: Christane (Johnny)Smith; Grandchildren: Roseanne, Sofia, Isabel, Bailey, Jonah, Brooklyn, Riley, William, Conor, Ally, Madison, Lilith, Baby Bell, Autumn, Summer, Lucas, Hunt leigh, Stephen, and Evelyn. Plus, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jennifer is also survived by Closet Sister Friend: Michel Nielsen; plus, Roger Mullen. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 11AM till the time of the service at 2:00PM.

Memorial services for Sherrie Anne Durham, 42 of Cookeville will be Monday, October 9 at 3 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Chris Blair will officiate. Sherrie died Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at her home. She was born April 2, 1981 in Torrance, California to Georgette Sullivan Moffatt of Cookeville and the late Don Moffatt. She was a sales manager/sales consultant in a rental center. Sherrie was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her mother, include husband Joe Durham of Cookeville, daughters Brianna Sullivan and Andrianna Anorve both of Cookeville, sons Jonathon Najharo of California and Jacob Anorve of Cookeville, sister Sandra Russell of Pulaski. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life for William Charles Sliger of Baxter, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2:00PM at the Faith Fellowship Church in Cookeville. Brother Sterl Paramore will officiate. William Charles Sliger was born in Cookeville on July 29, 1985, to Garry and Cathy (Davis) Sliger. William worked in the construction industry as a pipeline layer. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children: Brayden Price, William Sliger and Arianna Sliger. Two Sisters & Brother-In-Law: Jennifer Hester & Patrick Cockerell, and Deanna (Sliger) Osluand. His Paternal Grandmother: Betty Bumbalough. Nephews and Niece: Nick and Gabe Hester, Kaden, Kaitlyn, and Zane Pass. He is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents: William C. Davis Jr. and Francis Davis, Paternal Grandfather: Charlie Sliger, and Brother-In-Law: Geoff Oslund. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00PM until the time of the Celebration of Life at 2:00.
