A Water Contact Advisory remains in effect for Clay County’s Trace Creek and Wilson Branch.
A TDEC spokesperson reported no changes to the advisory issued on September 7. The advisory issued after pathogen samples were collected by TDEC. The samples showed E. Coli in the water at a higher level than expected.
Clay County citizens are encouraged to not come into contact with the stretch of Trace Creek from Old Gamaliel Road bridge to the Max Bean Road bridge. The Wilson Branch advisory starts at its origin and goes to where it meets Trace Creek.
According to a TDEC spokesperson, the state “continues to investigate the matter.”
