Explosive Device Found In Crossville, Bomb Squad Called In

The Bomb squad neutralized a military-style mortar in Crossville Thursday morning.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a local business in the North Main Street area where the device was discovered by the owner. Crossville and Cumberland County Fire both responded as did local law enforcement. According to the Sheriffs Department, the circumstances surrounding the device remain under investigation.

The Knoxville Bomb Squad neutralized the device. The Sheriffs Department will continue the investigation.
