Overton County: New Tourism Video

A new video depicting Overton County tourism assets is officially ready.

The video depicts major sites in the county like parks, restaurants, and architectural landmarks. Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce Director Shannon Cantrell said the video far exceeds her expectations.

“We’ve done a lot of things at the chamber as a staff and as a board since I have been a part of this chamber,” Cantrell said. “I truly believe this video is the best thing that has been produced so far.”

Cantrell said the Tennessee Department of Tourism funded the video. She said they have been helping numerous small communities throughout Tennessee and quickly accepted Overton’s application to receive funding.

Cantrell said the video will be posted to the city’s social media outlets and hopefully be presented at events in the future. She also said she wants to make the video link available for everyone to use and share because this presentation is of their community and for their community.

“Hopefully it will create some additional tourism for Livingston and Overton County, and allow our locals to realize how great the community they live in is,” Cantrell said.

The video was created in partnership with a Knoxville-based cinematography group arranged by the state. Cantrell said they came to them in Overton County and worked with a great deal of professionalism.

“They spent three days in Overton County doing photography and videography for this video, and it was a very high-quality video,” Cantrell said. “They did a terrific job with it, so we could not be more pleased with the way it turned out.”
