WCTE Invites Feedback During Public Media Giving Days

WCTE PBS wants the Upper Cumberland to reach out during Public Media Giving Days and tell them how to serve you better.

The new two-day event ends Tuesday. Donor Relations Manager Patti Cloud said WCTE is hoping that people will engage with WCTE to share their stories.

“Oh, well we’re so excited about it,” Cloud said. “It’s a lot of social media so we’re hoping people will engage with our social media on Facebook or Instagram and just tell us their stories about public media and what it means to them.”

Cloud said in addition to offering education, arts, and informative programming, the station provides a unique view of local culture. Cloud said “Wish You Were Here” and “Where Stories Live” are programs that focus entirely on the people and places of the Upper Cumberland.

“People are excited to see themselves on TV,” Cloud said. “We like to tell the stories of the Upper Cumberland and we share it nationally. So that’s just something wonderful that we can share the stories of our communites with the world.”

Cloud said they also want to bring the world to the community. She said children’s education services, lifelong learning for seniors, and NOVA bring world learning to your home.

Cloud said she encourages everyone to join their local affiliate in getting the word out during Public Media Giving Days. Membership and donations allow the station to offer more of what listeners want.

“Our members really are what keeps us going and keeps us in service of the community,” Cloud said. “So membership is so important to us. And it helps us raise money for our local programs.”
